In February-March
2010, the Marketing Technologies Bureau has implemented a research project on
request of the “Volia” company. The field stage was held in Kiev from February 23 to March 4, 2010. In accordance with
the research 500 subscribers of “Volia-Broadband” (high speed Internet access
by “Volia”) and 500 potential clients of “Volia-Broadband” (subscribers of
other providers, as well as residents of Kiev,
who are planning to connect the high speed Internet over the next 3 months) were
surveyed.
Research Department
of the Bureau may share some data with the public:
1. Metropolitan
Internet is rapidly “growing up”, turning into a massive, publicly accessible
means of communication and information. The structure of socio-demographic
characteristics of its users is gradually approaching the structure of the
population as a whole.
2. Kyiv is characterized
by a gradual escalation of Internet-access: market shares are reducing if
compared with small service providers and, accordingly - the share of the
market leaders is increasing.
3. Among
the main arguments that influence the decision about how to connect to one or
another service provider, subscribers emphasized the presence of attractive
promotional offers and the speed of downloading data.
