The Marketing Technologies Bureau implemented the first phase of the marketing research in Ukraine among women who inject drugs.
The Marketing Technologies Bureau implemented the first (basic) phase of the research "Evaluation of the effectiveness of the work with women who inject drugs."
Research is conducted on request of ICF "International HIV / AIDS Alliance in Ukraine” within the framework of the program “Scaling up the national response to HIV/AIDS through Information and Services” (“SUNRISE”) program supported by the US Agency for International Development.
From September 27 to October 13, 2010 under the "installation" wave of the research project in 5 cities were organized expert interviews with members of nongovernmental organizations and with women - injecting drug users.
This is a pilot project. It involves NGOs in five cities of Ukraine (Nikolaev, Kostiantynivka, Slavyansk (Donetsk region), Belgorod-Dniester (Odessa region) and Uman (Cherkassy region)). One of the main problems is the gradual assessment of the effectiveness of local NGOs, whose activities are aimed at introducing gender-sensitive approaches in efforts to prevent HIV infection in risk groups.
In accordance with the monitoring program, the first of three waves of research has fixed the starting, that is basic, figures in September 2010. January, February and May of 2011 are scheduled for the second and third waves of the research.
Comparison of the results allows assess the effectiveness of work with women - injecting drug users in the context of the implementation of gender-sensitive approach and formulate proposals for its correction and improvement.
